SUMMER CAMP FAQ’s
How does the Elite Skating Camp
differ from Power Skating at the Rep Prep Camps in August?
The Elite Skating Program is just that - SKATING. With
smaller class sizes, sessions are technical and progression
based. There is a limited "conditioning" component to the
Elite Skating Camp as the main focus is on individually
breaking down skating weaknesses and correcting them. As the
week progresses so does the intensity of on-ice sessions.
Players should be in good athletic condition before
attending the camp.
My son/daughter is really advanced for his age. Can he move up a
group?
We have a strict policy in having players skate above their
own age group. The majority of our camps focus heavily on
the individual skill of skating. Therefore, players can
develop and skate at their own pace within their own age
group. We find moving players to a
higher age group actually hinders their development as they
spend a majority of the class trying to “keep up” rather
then “developing” proper skating mechanics and general
hockey skills..
Do you have to
be a Rep Player to attend the Elite Skating Camp?
No, however, the elite skating program is an intense week
long program that advances rapidly. Students should be sound
skaters before attending the camp. Players Bantam aged and
up should be in good athletic condition before attending the
camp.
Where can I get a full schedule for the camp?
Camp schedules are emailed to participants at least 2
weeks prior to camp. |
