SUMMER CAMP FAQ’s

Why does Vancouver Hockey School not offer FULL DAY camps?

Over the years we have found the true value in a weekly hockey school is found not running around playing games in a field or parking-lot but ON THE ICE. We structure our camps as “time on task”  without off-ice “time fillers”. Our commitment to each parent and player is to provide the highest instructional value in a limited amount of time.

My child is really advanced for his age. Can he move up a group?

We have a strict policy in having players skate above their own age group. The majority of our camps focus heavily on the individual skill of skating. Therefore, players can develop and skate at their own pace within their own age group. We find moving players to a higher age group actually hinders their development as they spend a majority of the class trying to “keep up” rather then “developing” proper skating mechanics and general hockey skills..

What is the RIC location?
Richmond Ice Center located on #6 Rd in Richmond B.C. Canada.

Are goalies present at your camps?
Yes, we do our best to insure goalies are present at our summer camps. If you are a goalie and would like to participate, please contact Vancouver Hockey School.

Does Derek Popke attend the Rep Prep and Season Prep Camp?
